There are 4 available trim levels for the 2021 Explorer with the XLT being the base trim level. In Canada the vehicle has 4WD as a default which the US market has the FWD standard with 4WD as an available option.

The Explorer XLT has a Power Liftgate that you can open simply by using the key fob. Higher trim levels like the ST and Platinum also include foot activated functionality and the liftgate on all trim levels has fixed glass.
