What are some notable features of the Edge?
It’s a 5 seat SUV with a great amount of cargo space. The Edge features Ford’s new Sync4 media screen giving support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It’s available either with a 2.0L EcoBoost in the lower trim levels or 2.7L EcoBoost in the higher performance Edge ST.
What are some notable features of the Explorer?
Available with a 6 or 7 seat configuration, the Explorer has a wide range of trim level options and engines depending on which trim level of the vehicle you’re in. Standard is going to be a 2.3L EcoBoost, with the option of a 3.0L twin turbo when you get into the higher trims.
Sync3 or Sync4 Media Screens
The Explorer is still on Ford’s Sync3 media screen while the Edge features the larger, more feature rich Sync4 system. Both of them do have support for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay but it’ll be wireless in the Sync4 system!
Engine options
The Edge has the option for either a 2.0L EcoBoost or 2.7L EcoBoost while the Explorer has a 2.3L EcoBoost, 3.0L twin turbo and 3.3L hybrid.
Added Packages
A popular option is the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+ Package which gives you adaptive cruise control and factory navigation. Both vehicles also feature trailer tow packages with a great amount of pulling power!
